Using native space tau-PET images may allow us to identify the earliest tau pathology with better sensitivity than
standard space. The intermediate stage 2.5 putatively marks the earliest propagation of tau outside of the
hippocampus and transentorhinal and entorhinal cortices. This suggests that hippocampal tau pathology is
insufficient to explain the AD-associated memory impairment.
